Division 2 - 2010 Standings/Summaries

101023 New Windsor vs Wallkill
  • The D2 New Windsor Eagles won their 5th game in a row when they traveled to Wallkill and beat up on the Panther Pride for 44 minutes with a 41-0 good old fashioned butt whooping on Saturday, October 23, 2010. The offense scored 5 touchdowns and had 192 total yards of offense. The defense held the Pride to negative 27 yards of total offense and had 1 interception, 1 blocked punt, and 1 fumble recovery that was returned for a touchdown. The game got so out of hand that the refs called the game with about 4 minutes left after some very unsportsmanlike conduct by the Pride.
  • The Pride started the game on offensive from their 35 yard line. The Eagles showed the Pride their defensive discipline when the Pride tried to draw the Eagles offsides, but after the 3rd hut, the Pride drew the False Start penalty. On 1st and 15, Anthony Fiscal dropped the HB for a loss of 1. On 2nd and 16, Domenick Colotti chased the FB down behind the line for a 4 yard loss. Fiscal got to the QB on 3rd down for the sack and a loss of 5. Facing 4th and 20, the Pride attempted to punt, but the punt would get blocked by Adrian Broe. This would set the Eagles offense up at the Pride’s 19 yard line.
  • HB Moose Ulrich would get the call on first down and would run 19 yards for the TD and quick 6-0 lead. Fiscal would extend the lead to 8-0 with the 2 point kick.
  • The Pride would start again at their 35 yard line. Chris Patterson would drop the FB at the line for no gain. Ulrich would get to the QB before he could get to the outside and drop him for a loss of 1. On 3rd and 11, the FB would run to the left side line but would get dropped for a 6 yard loss by Outside Linebacker Freddie Watson. Pride would fake the punt on 4th down and Watson would be there again for the tackle and the turnover on downs.
  • The Eagles offense would start their next drive at the Pride 28. HB Ryan Wing would get the Eagles to the 15 after 3 carries. On 2nd and long, QB Ryan Skivington would hit TE Watson in the endzone for the TD. Fiscal would come on again for the successful 2 point kick and 16-0 Eagles lead.
  • Wallkill would start their 3rd offensive series of the game at their 35 yard line. DE Josh Bryant would drop the HB for a 2 yard loss on 1st and 10. Fiscal would get his 2nd sack of the game on 2nd and 12 for a 4 yard loss. Mike Brinkworth would pressure the QB on 3rd and 16 to force the incomplete pass. On 4th and 16, the Pride would attempt to punt. A bad snap would cause the Pride’s punter to attempt to run for the first down. Colotti would chase him down for a loss of 5 and the turnover on downs.
  • The Eagles offense would start again with great field position at the Pride 24. Bryant, Ulrich, and FB Noah Fields would get the Eagles to the 1 yard line on 5 plays. On 1st and goal from the one, Fields would punch it in for the score. Bryant would break a few tackles to convert the extra point to bring the score to 23-0.
  • The Pride would once again begin at their 35 yard line. Patterson was there on first down to drop the HB at the line for no gain. Brandon Klouda would get through the line and force the QB into throwing an incompletion on 2nd and 10. Patterson would be there again on 3rd down and drop the QB for a 3 yard loss. On 4th and 13, the Pride would attempt another punt. Another bad snap would get away from the punter and would be picked up by Colotti who would run it 32 yards for the touchdown and 29-0 Eagles lead.
  • With the 24 point OCYFL mercy rule in effect, the Pride would start their last offensive possession of the 1st half at midfield. An incomplete pass on 1st down, would bring up 2nd and 10. Klouda would bring down the HB at the line of scrimmage for no gain and the 1st half would come to an end.
  • The Eagles would start the 2nd half on offense and FB Matt Nemecheck showed the Pride right away that they weren’t letting up when he ran 65 yards for the TD on the first play of the series. It was Nemecheck’s 2nd game in a row with a TD run of 50 yards or more.
  • The Pride’s offense would begin again at midfield. Patterson and Watson would drop the FB for a 3 yard loss to bring up 2nd and 10. The QB would run the ball on 2nd down and get the Pride’s first positive yardage of the game by picking up 3 yards on the play. A New Windsor Offsides penalty would put the Pride into Eagles territory for the first time in the game. It would not last long as Colotti would bury the FB into the ground for a 6 yard loss to bring up 4th and 16. The Pride would go for it on 4th down, but an incomplete pass would cause the turnover on downs.
  • The Pride’s last offensive series of the game would also get them their first 1st down of the game. On 2nd and 10, Ellyson Grant would get a hold of the QB and bring him down after a pickup of 4. Fiscal would drop the FB after a pickup of 2. Tyler Santiago would bring down the QB after a pickup of 4 and the first down. Mark Heidmann would put an end to the drive when he would get his team high 6th interception of the season and run it back to the Eagles 43 yard line.
  • On the Eagles last scoring drive, FB Wright would get the call on 3rd and 9 and rumble 24 yards for the first down. Two plays later, HB Fiscal would run 28 yards for the TD. The Eagles offense would be nothing if it weren’t for the quality of it’s offensive line. Doing an outstanding job protecting the QB and opening holes for the running game throughout the whole game were Jack Walsh, Danny Gandt, Cyrus Owens, Grant, Broe, Bryant, Colotti, Fields, Fiscal, Patterson, Watson, Wing, Heidmann, and Wright.
  • The Eagles finished their season 5-3 after dropping the first 3 games. The team that played the last 5 games was definitely not the same team that lost the first 3 games. It is a shame that they came around too late and won’t be going to the post season this year. They definitely have the talent and could have made a great run at a championship. I am sure that there are a few playoff teams breathing a sigh of relief that they won’t be seeing the Eagles this year.

  • The Eagles defense would let the Gold’s offense go 55 yards on 17 plays on their opening drive, but would stop them on 4th and 8 at the Eagles 10. A bad snap would cause the Eagles punter to make a run for it, but he would be brought down at the line of scrimmage giving the Gold the ball on the Eagles 23. • The Eagles defense would make quick work of the Gold’s offense on their next series. Santiago would pressure the Quarterback and force him to intentionally ground the ball for a big loss. Warwick would try the Halfback Option pass on 2nd down and Safety Mark Heidmann would intercept it at the Warwick 44 for his 2nd interception of the season.
  • The Gold’s next offensive possession would only go 1 total yard. Following an incomplete pass on 1st and 10, Patterson would read the reverse and drop the Wingback after a pickup of 2. Following a Warwick False Start penalty, Patterson would bring down the Fullback after a pickup of 4 and the first half would come to a close.
  • The Eagles would start the 2nd half on offense would go 37 yards on 8 plays before turning the ball over on downs. The two big plays of the drive were the 24 yard completion by Quarterback Ryan Skivington to Colotti and the 11 yard pickup by Ulrich on 2nd and 11 for the first down. Skivington had great pass blocking on the line by Center Jack Walsh and Right Tackle Cyrus Owens.
  • The Gold would score a touchdown on their first possession of the 3rd and 4th quarters and that is all the points they would need. Here are the defensive stats for the 2nd half.
